History[]
Japan[]
Akari Tokitou is a girl from Japan. She attended Nishichou High School as a first year. She met with a girl named Hakua Shirakami and became best friends. Akari and Hakua became close enough to share the former's tragic past and the latter's regrets, and they talk about nothing in particular.
One day Hakua didn't show up to school and after a unknown ammount of time it was assumed she ran away or died, all expect Akari. Akari would argue to keep Hakua's seat open in the event she return. Over time the class began to ignore and then bully Akari by placing flowers on Akari's or Hakua's desk.
Original Timeline[]
Akari was summoned to The World by the Noblesse, the second caste made up of the aristocracy, by force. They had hope to use Akari to challege the Faust, the first caste made up of the Church. She was then held captive in comfortable accommodations in the castle. As she contemplated her situations a mysterious maid landed on the railing of the balcony. She looked exactly like her missing friend/lover except with light chestnut coloured hair and red irises.
At Menou's Church, Akari was to be escorted to the Faust facility in the former capital of the Grisarika Kingdom, Garm, so she could be sent back to her world. Train Tickets were procured for the journey. However, because of Akari, they missed the train departure time and had to wait the next day. They later found out the train had crashed with many casualties.
Thoughout the start of the journey, Akari was suspicious of Menou but after months on the road she began to smile back at the priest. When they finally reached the island of salt, Flare, Menou's Master, stabbed Menou with the sword of salt. As Menou slowly turnt to salt Akari kept using Regression repeatedly, but it was in vain. Momo began to wrestle with Flare, getting hit with the sword and began to turn to salt. Momo arms crumbled as she punches Flare while crying uncontrollably. Menou began to confess to Akari that she was trying to kill Akari from the start. Akari asked why she didn't go through with it. It was because Menou finally understood what friendship was thanks to Akari. Menou then regretted that she also couldn't save Momo as she fully crumbled into a pile of salt with only her red ribbons left. Menou crumbles as well as Akari grieves, Flare prepares to swing the sword into Akari while calling her a Screw up of Time. Akari declares that if she's to die she rather it be done by Menou's hand instead. She uses World Regression to turn back time to when she was summoned to The World.
Second Timeline[]
Akira blurts out Menou's name when they meet again on the balcony. As this Menou hadn't yet experienced the events of the original timeline she became highly suspicious of Akari, keeping an arm's length emotionally. She escorted Akari to Garm where Akari is touched by the Starhusk globile and Akari instinctly used World Regression.
Third Timeline[]
This time around Akari decided to keep Menou from harm by escaping the castle on her own so they never meet. She flees to the Wild Frontier. After some time Master Flare tracks her down. Akira declares that she accepts dying so long as Menou gets to live. Flare reveals that Menou has died at the hands of Archbishop Orwell. Akari in her despair activites World Regression and is determined to stick as close to the original timeline as possible. Her new plan required her to lock her memories away, leaving triggers in place to regain them if needed. She also left in place her undying love and friendship to Menou.
Retry[]
Akira repeats countless times in her attempt to save Menou but each time her friend is killed by Master Flare. She eventually loses most of her memories of Japan and of Hakua, edging closer to becoming a Human Error.
Current Timeline[]
She decides to go on a journey with Menou because she believes meeting her was fate. However, Menou is trying to find a way to kill her. Usually Akari is unaware of this, but in emergencies she gains back her memories from previous regressions. Her goal is to be killed by Menou while keeping her alive. After the emergency has been resolved, Akari uses Regression: Memories, Soul and Spirit on herself to erase her knowledge of the past timeloops.
Personality[]
Akari is a naive, carefree, happy-go-lucky girl. She cares strongly for Menou, and demonstrates this by constantly trying to protect her.
When Akari has her memories of past regressions, she is a very capable user of her Pure Concept. She is not well trained as a fighter though, and in combat is forced to rely on her power completely.
Abilities[]
During the process of being summoned into Menou's world, Akari is assigned the Pure Concept of Time (which is initially improperly attached to her soul). This makes it nearly impossible for anyone to kill her. Invocations that are among those which Akari can use, thanks to her control of the Pure Concept of Time are;
- Regression - used to restore an entity to a previous point in time. Akari is commonly seen using this invocation on her body and memories. This invocation is also used on numerous occasions to restore the entire world to the point where Akari meets Menou.
- Suspension - used to suspend the passage of time for a targeted entity.
- Weathering - used to increased the rate at which a target entity wears down.
- Acceleration - used to increased the speed at which a targeted entity moves in relation to the world around it.
- Teleportation - used to transport matter or another invocation to a given location (not seen in use, though mentioned by the narrator)
In addition to space-time related invocations, Akari also benefits from maintaining an unusually high level of Guiding Force, which is a regular feature of Otherworlders.
As is commonplace in fictional media where disruptions in the space-time continuum are concerned, Akari's use of worldwide regression gradually causes both disruptions in the world's timeline, along with its space.
